I transferred to Gilgamesh when transfers opened up. After playing for a while at max level it's clear how much they copied from WoW. That's not a bad thing, but they don't have all the quality of life stuff that WoW has now a days. I'm playing some, but I want to see how their first big patch is in a couple of weeks. There are lots of really weird design choices in that patch ( EG their first 24 man raid can't be queued for with more than 8 people) and ones that were obviously done to extend content between patches. It might end up adding enough stuff to keep the game fun but otherwise there just isn't enough to do at the end game right now.

IF anyone is still interested in FF14 and hasn't bought it yet greenmangaming.com has it on sale for 25% off with this code GMG25-OGRUH-7SM8H I ended up getting it since a bunch of people I know from work will be playing.

All the progress from the open beta phase, which is the 17th-19th, will transfer over in to live, so if you try it out you should roll on the server you plan to play on. I'll be on gilgamash.

Or did you, perhaps, dump the mom and go for the daughter?

The two are not mutually exclusive.

There are rumors that the arcanist's jobs will give another healing class. The entire class is not going to be out until release according to square, and I bet it gets pushed. It will either be awful or OP just like any new class.

I made it to level 15 in phase two and healed the first instance. They might have changed some stuff after that, but I didn't get a chance to try it again. Only having to make one character is very nice. Also the gear locker they have works well with that so you don't have to worry about inventory space. I'll wait and see what people think when phase 4(open beta) starts.

Were you playing a healer? I found the conjurer class to be very boring to play in phase 2. It had no interesting mechanics. The game is way better than it was and it has all the things you'd want from a modern MMO but that's it. It doesn't really break any new ground. The main thing going for it is that it's FF and their art is amazing.

Also I doubt how polished the game will be when it comes out. Its been in beta for 6 months but they only left the servers up for a day or two every couple of weeks. In addition there are a bunch of features they didn't release in beta at all. Jobs for example were only tested by those that had 1.0 characters. I'd like to be wrong but we'll see in a month or so.

A friend turned me on to this game after he became burnt out on D3 because of the brokenness. Its its another Diablo like game but its has a lot of different progression systems and they work very well together. All skills in the game are gems you put in your gear which level up with you so you have a lot of flexibility with your skills. Also their talent system is like FFX where everyone shares a huge grid of choices. Depending on what class you pick you start in a different spot, so the classes have meaning but they don't fully define your character. They had an open beta test this weekend and it was pretty fun, combat isn't as frantic as D3 but still very engaging.

The game will be F2P when it comes out, but if you pay 10 bucks now you get a beta key and some money for their cash shop when it opens. If you're looking for another hack'n'slash before torchlight 2 comes out check it out.

Hijacking this thread because I couldn't believe this when I read it. Quoted from IGN
"Did you know that Dolph Lundgren is really the son of Jason Statham? He is, according to director Uwe Boll, who has cast Lundgren as the lead in his forthcoming Dungeon Siege sequel, In the Name of the King 2.

Boll told Bloginity all about the plot to his next Dungeon Siege Tale: "It's like contemporary, right now big city, and we have Dolph Lundgren basically being a cop or like a fighting coordinator working as this, and one night he gets attacked by ninjas in his house and fell with the ninjas into a vortex back in time."

Boll continued, "And then it turns out it's like 50 years after the first part 'In the Name of the King' ended, and Ehb is destroyed and everybody is dead, Jason Statham and everybody who was in the first part, got wiped out."

He added, "They say he was basically sent into the future, he's the son of Jason Statham, and he was sent into the future, brought up in an orphanage, because the parents felt that they would all die. So he is basically the last survivor of the kingdom of Ehb so he should bring the kingdom back in charge."

Filming will reportedly begin early next year in Canada."

When will he stop making movies? This sounds like a something a 12 year old kid tripping on acid would dream up. No I take that back the 12 year old might have some imagination. I think I just got superaids from reading this quote.

Basically after 2 months of being live its shutting down already. I doubt there is much they could have done but it seems pretty shitty that 2 months after you bought a game you won't be able to play it any more. That's not to mention all the copies that are on store shelves still that might be bought in the next couple weeks. I would be very pissed if I had just bought the game. Also LOL at yesterdays post which said there was a patch coming out today for it and instead you get to find out the game is shutting down. I wonder if some other company with pick it up in the fire sale of Realtime Worlds.
