Title: Mafia II
Post by: Deepz on August 24, 2010, 02:03:05 PM
I deleted that random ass thread that some bot probably posted, but it just came out today. I picked this up and played for about an hour. The first Mafia was a lot of fun, and this one definitely doesn't look like it will disappoint.

The tech is really slick, the art is great, the music is cool, with old 40's tracks in addition to stuff performed by the Czech Philharmonic. Voice acting is solid, and gameplay is fun.

I recommend it if you want a cool single player, pretty story heavy third person shooter, and if you liked the first Mafia, it's pretty much a must have.

The mouse interface seemed a little sluggish, but what i really liked was how tough driving a 1940's car around in the snow after having it get shot up felt.  Apparently there is a simulation mode as well that requires shifting and such.

Mafia II has like 14 hours of gameplay. Why waste your money on something so short?

It's basically just GTA 1940s edition

Ever gone to see a movie? That's about 12 bucks for ~2 hours (6 bucks per hour) 50 bucks for 14 hours (3.5 bucks per hour), plus DLC.

If it's not an MMO or a flash game, you aren't really going to get more gameplay per $.

Morrowind = 50 bucks for 200+ hours of gameplay, or $0.25 an hour. That's fairly good.

And internet porn is both endless and free so we should all kill ourselves for our poor investment skills.

I like how you feel in the snow, Deepz.
