Title: GH
Post by: Trilly on March 29, 2009, 08:25:15 AM
If you don't have a Guitar Hero game yet, go buy one now.  In anticipation of GH: Metallica coming out in a few weeks, I bought (and played) Guitar Hero for the first time on Friday.  I wish I'd discovered this a long time ago.

Last night  I was listening to a boring girl talk I wondered why I just paid five dollars for a beer to listen to some music I don't like and blabber about her material addicted life.  I think you are on to something Trilly.

I though GH was dumb and I would never play such a ridiculous game.  Then a buddy got it and got me to try it, it was fun.  Drinking guitar hero is also very fun.  When rockband came out I gave it a shot and at first didn't like the subtle differences(my buddy stole the drums and I don't sing).  Awesome pregame activity before hittin the bars or waiting for "the last person to arrive" that every group has.

The advantage of Rock Band over GH is that you can actually build a library of songs that still work with future games.  Anywhere from 3 to a whole album plus of songs come out for Rock Band every week and are cheaper to buy then GH DLC.

The Guitar Hero instruments are vastly superior however.

The guitar is nicer for GH but I had problems with the drums in GHWT and thats why I returned them. Since then I have heard that the problems were fixed but I still didn't like the GH visual style/interface over Rock Band. The Drums in Rock band 2 are very study and I've played countless hours on expert with minimal wear. Like evale said rockband has really made it nice that all the DLC and previous games can be ported in to rock band 2. GH/Activision has said that there are no plans to let you copy songs to your HD and use them in other GHs.
