It was a very pretty movie.  The story was very familiar, but presented in a slightly different variation.  My largest complaint about the movie was the quality of the dialogue, which often seem shallow/superficial (with a few action-movie-like moments).  If you can buy into the lore, it's quite enjoyable.  90-94%.

Excruciatingly painful, but sometimes funny.

Not satisfying and predictable :(

Burg was right, it sucks.

Objectively, I'd give it a 75-80%.  However, the missions are far too easy.  The combat is far too quick.  Although many of the units are adorable, micromanaging their powers gets tedious.  Command and Conquer 3 just comes off as a far superior project on every level of game play.

Humor / Personality Test - NEO
« on: September 27, 2008, 01:25:50 PM »
This is an online version of the NEO, to some extent, which some older guild members may remember.  I am not a strong supporter of the efficacy of personality measures, but if you wish to sum up a person for shits and giggles, this test tends to be the most common and reliable (outside of the MMPI).  The longer the test version taken, the more accurate it will be, in theory.

Do not put too much weight in the facet score names.   In example, the use of "intellect" would be better put as "open mindedness".  There's nothing in this test that measures intelligence, however intellect was used to describe a persons enjoyment of puzzles and abstract ideas.  Some of the questions may not appear to the be the best, but the results are typically correlated with their facet score they load into.

Enjoy: http://www.personalitytest.net/ipip/ipipneo1.htm

The only thing not nice about the test is that it doesn't give you a nice little one word phrase to describe you.

Music, Movies, & TV / New Indiana Jones
« on: May 25, 2008, 03:50:58 PM »
The last Indiana Jones movie was The Last Crusade.

Cons:
The movie didn't have the same feel as the others.  The story was quite boring (and at times quite horrible) and the Shia Labeouf character was annoying as fuck from when his character was introduced until the end of the movie.

Pros:
The same Indiana Jones humor was present and, at times, amusing.  The special effects, especially at the end of the movie, were quite pretty.

Enjoyable.  If you liked Homeworld, then this game will likely tickle your fancy.  The fact that there is no campaign is definitely a draw back, but picking and choosing maps allows you to tinker around sufficiently.  It claims to be massive in scope, but that's a lie.  Once you get orientated to the game, you begin to realize how tiny it actually is and that there isn't a large amount of significant differences between the three factions.

If the expansion has a campaign and promises to differentiate the factions more it would be a must buy for anyone who enjoys the genre.
