As Casual's British resident I feel it's my duty to bring a bit of Best of British to the thread.
Here's a very varied selection with a theme of strings.
Unkle - Lonely Souls
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=__r0gwxzeVEAfter hearing the first 65 days of static song that was posted. I enjoyed it but felt that at times they seemed to lose the beat and let it run away from them a bit and it reminded me of what a good job Unkle did with this track.
Massive Attack - Antistar
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jxSG4SjaTJgSuch a dark track with such beautiful strings. I'd imagine this won't be everyone's cup of tea. Nobody really does dark as well as Massive Attack.
Groove Armada - Edge Hill
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HEAhRhjtK58They'll be a temptation for many of you to skip forward a bit but the long intro is really part of what makes this song so great. It's a fantastic track to just close your eyes to and let yourself drift away.
Lamb - Gorecki
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZtIeH_J-SiIAs a bit of a lift after a couple of quite dark songs this is certainly one of Lamb's better tracks. I know Emily is a huge fan of this song, it's one of those that really appeals to a lot of people.
Probably a couple of bands you have heard of there and some you haven't.
